Meet Paul. He is smart, funny and a charmer. He is also my tax guy, and hence my go-to guy on everything that has to do with numbers. He has CMT (Charcot-Marie-Tooth) Disorder, which he says is a very close to MS. In the last five years that I’ve known him, I saw how the disease progressed and altered his lifestyle.
I am defiant. Defiance takes courage. It demands commitment. It also requires keen recognition of our limitations. I don’t mistake defiance for stubbornness. To be stubborn beyond good reason is not defiance. It’s stupidity.
